Guys, the day has finally arrived. Fingers are crossed, folks are in line, hearts are pounding and people are excited “YEAH, YEAH” there is no better way to be part of our Great United States than to vote.
All that being said, I am on my way to go shopping. I have been really, really good with my budget this semester. It is tough to not buy what I want, but when I do buy something it is something I really want. Everyone is just so depressed about the economy. My Mom and I talked about it and she told me that she thinks it is a good thing “WHAT” yep, a good thing.
Mom gave me one of her old folks stories (she has many) this one is about my grandparents. She told me that they saved up for every piece of furniture they had and paid cash. That was the reason none of their bedroom pieces matched. By the time they had saved up the money the original style was discontinued. By the way, they kept their furniture for 40 years and didn’t change stuff out. She said that maybe this was God helping us understand that material things aren’t that important and that we have lost the gift of wanting something. By that she means we buy everything on charge cards right away so we don’t ever have that feeling of waiting for something and then the pride of being able to buy it.
I thought about our conversation for a couple of days and remembered when we cleaned out both my sets of grandparents house that everything was old (in a good way). I guess it is good that things are slowing down, but I pray for everyone to be able to provide for their family.
Good Thought For The Day - I am going to be totally sassy on this one. Since it is just a great day to be an American wear something red, white and blue. Of course I have a very cute outfit on with a hint of red (told you it would be sassy).
God Bless Everyone
