History Behind Wear it Wednesday
About the Movement
While attending an FCA meeting, a leader shared with Chelsea Eubank and her mom that there were some counties in the country that were trying to eliminate the morning Huddle (FCA meetings). The idea that young people would not be allowed to meet and share the joy of their faith, just seemed so wrong to Chelsea.
After much thought, Chelsea had a vision to start a “wear your faith movement” as a way for young people to personally show their commitment to Christ. Already being a young Christian clothing designer, Chelsea understands that clothing is a personal media for our young teens to show who they are. CLOTHING IS YOUR MEDIA!
“Wear It Wednesday” is Chelsea’s vision to create a day where everyone can wear their favorite faithful shirt (Christian band, FCA, youth group, etc) on Wednesday each week! Wednesday is the perfect day for this event because teens can then invite their friends to church and show them why they are so happy in their faith. She sees the “Wear It Wednesday” movement as a way to allow the young and faithful to show the nation that we are a community who is both excited and proud about the future of being Christian.
Imagine if you will, walking into a school on a Wednesday and seeing over half of the population wearing their faith. Would everyone be kinder to each other? What would the conversations be like? How many would ask to go to church on Wednesday evening with their friends?
The “Wear It Wednesday” campaign is just the beginning. Chelsea’s initial goal is to have 1,000,000 students “wear their faith” every Wednesday. Register today and be part of the vision. Invite your friends to be part of the team with you! Take fun pictures of you and your friends and we will add them to our website for everyone to see!
